By the Grace of God,
I’m Still Standing
Welcome. I’m Kelley.
I’m an author, a hope builder, and a woman who has learned firsthand that God still brings beauty for ashes, hope from heartbreak, and purpose from pain.
Today, I encourage women to grow in faith, hope, and gratitude because those three things transformed my own life.
But it wasn’t always that way.
For much of my life, I was simply trying to survive.
I lost my mother when I was nine years old, a loss that left a wound I carried for nearly all my life. As I grew older, I experienced trauma, abuse, heartbreak, and seasons of deep pain that could have easily left me bitter, broken, and without hope.
Like many people who are hurting, I searched for ways to numb the pain instead of heal it. I self-medicated until I was 28 years old, trying to fill wounds that only God could heal.
Yet even when I was running from Him, God never stopped pursuing me.
At 49 years old, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ.
That decision changed my life.
Not overnight.
Not all at once.
But little by little, God began healing what years of pain had broken.
He taught me that gratitude isn’t pretending life is perfect. It’s recognizing His goodness in the middle of imperfect circumstances.
He taught me that faith is trusting Him when I cannot see the outcome.
He taught me that hope is confidence in His promises, even while we wait.
Over the years, I also faced significant health challenges that tested me in ways I never imagined. I survived multiple life-threatening medical crises, strokes, heart attacks, major surgeries, and moments when the future felt uncertain.
More than once, I found myself facing circumstances that should have defeated me.
But God had other plans.
When I didn’t have the strength to stand, He carried me.
When I wanted to quit, He gave me the courage to take one more step.
When I couldn’t see a way forward, He made a way.
Looking back now, I can see His faithfulness woven through every chapter of my story.
The woman I am today is not the result of my own strength.
She is the result of God’s grace.
That grace changed my perspective.
It strengthened my faith.
It taught me to look for blessings instead of focusing on burdens.
And it inspired me to create The Abundant Heart Journal and everything that followed.
Today, my greatest joy is helping women spend time in God’s Word, discover His goodness in everyday life, and experience how faith, hope, and gratitude can draw them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you’re walking through a difficult season right now, I want you to know that you’re not alone.
I’ve been where hopelessness lives.
And because I know what that feels like, I care deeply about the women who find their way here.
You matter.
You are deeply loved by God.
There is hope for your future.
And I pray that as you spend time with Him, you’ll begin to recognize His goodness in your own story, one day at a time.
I know that’s possible because He did it for me.
By the grace of God, I’m still standing.
And by His grace, your story isn’t over either.
With much love and gratitude,
